Denise Searle

Founder, Owner/Operator

Denise was first introduced to the Pilates Method in 1990 while working in advertising in Los Angeles. At the time, she was managing a back injury stemming from years of gymnastics, cheerleading, and teaching aerobics. After just a few Pilates sessions, she recognized the profound impact of the work and knew she had found something truly special.

In 1995, Denise relocated to Aspen and chose to pursue a career in the field she had always been most passionate about: fitness and movement. She graduated from The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado in 1997 and soon after founded Art of Fitness, now Aspen’s longest-running Pilates studio.

After seven years of teaching the Pilates Method, Denise expanded her expertise by becoming certified in Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis®. She strongly believes these movement systems complement one another, offering clients a more comprehensive and balanced approach to strength, mobility, and body awareness.

Denise is deeply grateful to spend her days doing work she loves—helping people move better, feel better, and look better through thoughtful, intentional movement.

Janet graduated from The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado in 2003 and The Masters Program in 2008. Her interest lies in helping clients to obtain their optimal health, physical performance and more balanced body thru movement. Seia Rassenti

Gyrotonic ® & Gyrokinesis ®

Seia Rassenti, has spent the last decade dancing as a member of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. On the road to becoming a professional dancer, she spent many years studying different styles of dance and modalities of care for her body and mind. At 17, she discovered the restorative powers Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis. The circle movements felt very healing. In looking towards the future, she decided to become certified in these methods in order to better help others feel good in their own bodies.

Sheridan Semple

Pilates Instructor

Sheridan has been teaching Pilates since 2004, with over 20 years of experience helping clients build strength, stability, and resilience in their bodies. Her work is grounded in a deep understanding of the body and movement, shaped by years of teaching anatomy and physiology, as well as massage therapy.

Sheridan was drawn to Pilates after noticing the same patterns showing up in her clients’ bodies again and again — chronic tension, compensation, and pain rooted not in weakness, but in inefficient movement and lack of awareness. Pilates became the tool that allowed her to help clients break those patterns at the source, restoring strength, balance, and ease.

Her teaching style blends athletic, therapeutic, and precise movement, with a strong focus on intelligent alignment, functional strength, mobility, injury prevention, and nervous system regulation. Sheridan works one-on-one with clients of all ages and experience levels — from beginners to seasoned athletes — meeting each body exactly where it is and guiding it forward with clarity and care.
